Yoga is a technology with which we can experience our true nature. Yoga is not a religion, and people of every faith and no faith practice yoga and receive benefits.

A kundalini class includes asana (physical postures), pranayam (breath), savasana (deep relaxation), mantra (sound current) and meditation (focused attention).

The combination of these components moves stagnant and unhelpful emotions, thoughts, and trauma stored in the body, mind and psyche. At the same time, one is vivified, becoming more harmonious.

Kundalini Yoga is particularly effective in clearing blockages and catalyzing deep work. The practice consists of dynamic and subtle techniques which will put you in charge of your own power. It is a self-initiation into your sacredness. It illuminates our inner workings, so we may embody and radiate Truth.

Applying these techniques will help you keep a clear mind, a calm heart, and maintain a personal connection to the source of all creation.

Essential Components of Kundalini Yoga

“Kundalini Yoga is uncoiling yourself to find your potential and your vitality and to reach for your virtues. There is nothing from outside. Try to understand that. All is in you. You are the storehouse of your totality.” -Yogi Bhajan

This classes are 2-hour explorations of fundamental elements of kundalini yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Each class is a complete kundalini yoga class, and an examination of a particular topic. Kundalini Yoga is a seamless technology composed of many parts – with practice, the components work together to create profound healing and expanded consciousness.

Beginners will welcome being introduced to these fundamentals. The seasoned yogi will be illuminated with further knowledge on what is happening during practice.

The truth is, each of these topics may be lifelong studies, unveiling its wisdom with time and commitment. We will begin with these five classes, with the intention that these topics will be revisited and expanded upon in the future. Other topics will be offered as well, since this knowledge is so vast and kundalini yoga is beyond even these five fundamental components. Let us explore this path together!

The topics are: Asana (postures), Pranayama (breath), Bandha (locks), Mantra (sound current), and Mudra (hand seals).  We will be practicing all of these in every class, but special attention will be given as follows:

Kirtan Kriya Class
Thursdays 7:00pm-8:30pm at Eastlake Yoga


This kundalini yoga class will feature a long practice of Kirtan Kriya, a powerful meditation which allows us to move through our changing world with grace. Each class will include a warm up, short kundalini yoga kriya, and then for our meditation, Kirtan Kriya (30 minutes). Let’s create a powerful vortex of energy to benefit you and all of the world. Come give it a try!

All levels are welcome.

What does Kirtan Kriya cut through? It cuts through anything that is not aligned with our Truth. It cuts through anything that is not supporting our fullest potential - our mental health, emotional equilibrium, physical vitality, creative happiness and deep, lasting fulfillment. In yogic language, we ascribe those limiting beliefs and habits to the ego. Ego believes in the finite, and makes decisions based on that. The Soul knows its true nature is infinite, and makes decisions based on that. Kirtan Kriya cuts through the ego so our infinite clarity can be our foundation.

Kirtan Kriya brings peace, relaxation, and balance. It works holistically on all levels of consciousness. When we dedicate ourselves to a regular practice of this Kriya, we see how much we can change and how incredible a tool it is for healing and growth.
